The Society published its first book, INSCRIPTIONS on TILES,
in the memory of the late Prof. Dr. Serare YETKIN in
1996. The SOCIETY OF ART HISTORY PUBLICATION series continues within its own
means from that day on.
The Society of Art History started to organize symposiums in 1996, in
accordance with the HABITAT II convention held in IIstanbul. The art and
culture of a certain era is discussed in these symposiums and the original
papers presented are published annually. And this procedure continues within
certain concepts to the present day.
The papers presented at the symposiums held on:
Millenium - on ‘Art from 1950 to 2000’ on the influences of art in the last 50 years both
in Türkiye and in the world;March 2002 - on ‘Ottoman Art and Culture in the 15 th Century’
Beginning of the of the Millenium/ on ‘ Art From 1950 to 2000 ‘ and ‘ Ottoman Art and Culture in the 15 th Century ‘ carried in the series of Ottoman Art and Culture, were not forwarded to us and could not be published.
April 2003 - on ‘Art and Culture of the Emirates ’;
The papers presented at the symposium ‘ Art and Culture of the Emirates ‘ is being prepared for publication in 2006.
